Offences and Consequences

4.1 Types of Minor Offence

2 Demerit Points

  • Using handphone during curriculum time (handphone will be confiscated till the end of term)
  • Inappropriate behaviour during class test (e.g. talking, walking about etc.)
  • Piercing of Ears/ Tongue and/ or wearing ear sticks (for boys only)
  • Upon getting the 5th and 6th booking in the CMF - for each booking


3 Demerit Points

  • Skipping detention/ isolation sessions (plus 2x make up sessions)
  • Skipping lessons
  • Absence from remedial and/ or after school activities
  • Use of vulgarities / obscenities / inappropriate language
  • Mishandling school property (eg. doors, AV & IT equipment, etc)
  • Scuffling 
  • Upon getting the 4th booking in CMF (+ 1 stroke of the cane)
  • Upon getting the 7th & 8th CMF booking - for each booking



4.2 Types of Major Offence

5 Demerit Points + 1 stroke of the cane (for boys) OR 5 days of isolation after school (for girls)

  • Cheating in tests / exams (no marks will be given for the paper)
  • Defiance towards school authority, e.g. raising voice or making unpleasant remarks at teacher, refusing to reply or follow teacher's instruction after being asked more than once
  • Truancy
  • Fighting
  • Forgery of documents


10 Demerit Points + 3 strokes of the cane (for boys) OR 15 days of isolation after school (for girls)

  • Acts of vandalism
  • Bullying
  • Challenging school authorities (in actions or in words)
  • Gambling
  • Involvement in secret society activities- Possession / Consumption of narcotics / drugs / alcohol
  • Possession / Viewing of Pornographic material
  • Rioting / Unlawful assembly
  • Shoplifting / Stealing inside or outside school
  • Smoking / possession of cigarette or tobacco
  • Other criminal offences
  • Police cases: when charged in court with any criminal proceedings


* The school reserves the right to mete out appropriate consequences if a pupil is behaving in any other way detrimental to the moral tone of the school.
