Vision

Our vision is for young aspiring musicians in Fairfield to be trained and inspired in a nurturing and challenging environment. As individual musicians and members of the Fairfield Symphonic Band (FSB), they will pursue music excellence and the highest standards of musicality as one family.

Mission

Our mission is to enable every FSB member to reach their full potential. We provide outstanding music education and training opportunities designed to inspire and nurture dedicated music enthusiasts in Fairfield. Engaging in band practices enhances both mental and physical development as members interact and learn together. We are committed to continuous improvement and achieving excellence in every performance.

Conductor

Mr Wong Yin Xuan 

Mr Wong Yin Xuan, an active educator and conductor, has been nurturing young talents in the world of wind instruments for over 15 years. Currently, he serves as the dedicated band director for the Fairfield Symphonic Band, where he has been influencing the lives of both primary and secondary school students with his passion for music and teaching.

Mr Wong's teaching philosophy centers on the nurturing power of encouragement and its transformative impact on students. He holds a firm belief that with adequate guidance, all students can eventually achieve their musical goals. Emphasizing inclusivity, he asserts that music is for everyone, not just the naturally talented. Under his dedicated leadership, Mr Wong led the band to earn a Certificate of Distinction at the 2023 Singapore Youth Festival, marking a significant achievement in his inaugural year as the main conductor.
